Overnight in the Dream Capsule: A Fall Adventure

We recently embarked on a serene escape to a unique and cozy cabin nestled amidst the autumnal splendour. Our days were filled with simple pleasures, from cooking delicious meals to exploring the surrounding rivers and trails.

Our culinary journey began with a hearty breakfast of oatmeal, made extra special with the addition of cinnamon, sugar, and butter stewed apples. A simply delicious and relatively easy way to add the tastes of apple pie to your meal (if not a slight bit overindulgent)!

Afterwards we ventured out to explore the nearby trails. They each run adjacent / are a part of the Bruce Trail – Canada's oldest and longest marked footpath, offering stunning views, diverse ecosystems, and challenging terrain. The vibrant fall foliage was a breathtaking sight, and the crisp, cool air was so refreshing. We even stumbled upon a river and waterfall, a serene oasis amidst the colourful forest.

As the sun began to set, we returned to the cabin, eager to cozy up by the fire. The crackling of the logs created the perfect ambiance for relaxation. Honey Pie was in his element soaking up the heat. As the day unfolded, we prepared a traditional Middle Eastern dish, Maqluba, a flavourful one-pot meal featuring cauliflower, chicken, and rice with a plethora of spices like cumin, turmeric, allspice, cardamom, cinnamon & black pepper.

Our cabin stay was a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The unique capsule at the end of the cabin allowed us to watch the night sky as we fell asleep and we awoke to the ever-changing sights of the fall forest.
