Camping at Emily Provincial Park: Beating the Heat with a Greek Feast!

Hey everyone, I'm back with another camping adventure! This time, I'm setting up camp at Emily Provincial Park under some seriously hot skies. You can practically hear the summer buzz in the air!

Pitching the Perfect Tent:

This trip, I'm using my awesome modular tent. It's like a chameleon, transforming from a cozy baker style tent to a classic A-frame in a snap. Perfect for hot weather as I can leave it open for maximum airflow. Setting it up is a breeze, even with the lively sounds of a nearby summer camp adding to the soundtrack.

Camp Kitchen Essentials:

No camping trip is complete without a well-stocked kitchen chest! After assembling my compact and comfy camping chair, I prepped a delicious granola and nut cookie – a sweet reward for all the hard work. To keep those pesky mosquitos at bay, I set up my handy mosquito coil stand.

Mastering the Art of Fire:

Fire time! Remember, it's important to use local firewood to avoid spreading any unwanted visitors like insects or disease. Today, I'm putting my new flint to the test. After a few tries, I'm rewarded with a satisfying spark and crackling flames – there's something so primal and satisfying about starting a fire naturally!

A Culinary Adventure Under the Sun:

Tonight's menu: a mouthwatering Greek-inspired wrap. Chopped cucumber, juicy heirloom tomatoes, crisp green peppers, and red onion create a colorful base. The star of the show? Marinated halloumi cheese, expertly grilled over the coals (with a minor oops moment – hey, it happens!). A drizzle of Greek dressing, black olives, and a generous helping of the grilled halloumi all get wrapped up in a delicious hug. To complete the meal, I throw together a simple side salad with feta cheese, savoring every bite with my trusty foldable fork. This light and fresh meal is perfect for a hot summer day.

Coffee Break with a View:

After a satisfying dinner, a cup of coffee is a must. Freshly ground beans go into my trusty (but slightly slow) grinder for a perfect pick-me-up. The aroma is heavenly! Sipping my coffee under the darkening sky is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day. ☕️

Nighttime Relaxation:

As darkness falls, I light up the camp with my lantern – wow, it's bright! Stringing up some fairy lights adds a touch of magic to the scene. Cracking open a Life In The Clouds IPA by Collective Arts, I settle down with a bag of kettle chips – the perfect way to end the day. Even though the park was a bit crowded, it was a truly relaxing trip.

Thanks for joining me on this camping adventure! See you next time!
